Solid Agoutis have had a full standard since 2009
Tartuffe Cavies has a small stud of solid agoutis in silver, cinnamon, golden and more recently, cream.
The aim in 2011 is to produce a sustainable stud of solids in all 6 recognised colours. The latest litters have just yielded two boars in lemon and golden that will hopefully become next years stud boars.
The solid family has grown........up, and in numbers!
Tartuffe Heathcliffe (now he's all grown up!) and winner of Best Solid Agouti at Harrogate 2012, taking top honours in both the NACC stock show and the host show.
Heathcliffe is father to Sinuk (below) who just so has his 'look'.

Indian Chief!
Tartuffe Cochise in profile - what a handsome chap! and with a bit more weight on now he's not running with any sows - soon to be hitting the show bench (when I have the opportunity, and enthusiasm to groom out all the guard hairs!)
Ever the optimist!
This is 'Granite' who is my first solid outcross to come to the stud at Tartuffe. He originates from Penny Bell at Optimist Stud, the undisputed queen of the soild agouti and the lady almost entirely responsible single-handedly for getting the breed it's recognition in the UK today.
Penny and I have begun swapping the odd boar or two, to keep the gene pool healthy and to introduce colours into our respective studs that were a bit lacking. I have been trying to produce a solid silver boar for ages with no luck (got plenty of sows, and lemons, and cinnamons!) and so I jumped at the chance of having a top quality boar in from 'her magesty'........................three days after I got Granite home my silver sow littered and guess what?....yep a silver boar greeted me along with a silver sow and yet another cinnamon boar (to add to the growing collection!)....Mother Nature really is making me smile!
